1,980 Applicants Invited in Latest Express Entry Draw by IRCC

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced invitations to 1,980 candidates in the third Express Entry draw this month. This draw was conducted under the General category, requiring a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 524.

This CRS cut-off marks a continued trend of decreasing scores. The previous general draw on March 12th invited 2,850 candidates with a minimum CRS of 525, which was itself a low for the year. In comparison, the first general draw of 2024 on January 10th had a minimum CRS of 546.

IRCC conducts general draws by inviting candidates from all Express Entry programs and categories. The March 13th draw, however, was a category-specific draw targeting those in transport occupations. That draw saw a much lower CRS requirement of 430 and marked the first such draw since December 2023. Since the introduction of category-based draws, IRCC has invited a total of 2,645 candidates working in transport fields.
