The BC PNP Tech program, introduced in 2017, has been extended indefinitely under the new name BC PNP Tech. This program was designed to assist B.C. tech employers in meeting their talent requirements. It provides a pathway for international skilled tech professionals to work in B.C. and eventually obtain permanent residence. The BC PNP Tech program, drawing from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories, has seen significant growth and accounted for a substantial portion of the program's nominations. In 2021, Tech Pilot nominees comprised 27% of all nominations under the program. Tech occupations, such as software engineers and developers, graphic designers and illustrators, computer programmers and interactive media developers, professional occupations in advertising, marketing, and public relations, information systems analysts and consultants, and user support technicians, dominated the top 10 occupations nominated in 2021. The BC PNP Tech program continues to be a vital resource for B.C. employers seeking to attract and retain skilled tech talent.
