British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba Extend Invitations in Latest PNP Results.

In a recent update, three Canadian provinces have issued invitations to candidates seeking to apply for provincial nomination. This is in line with their respective Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), which have become pivotal in addressing labor market gaps and welcoming skilled immigrants into Canada.
The Role of Provincial Nominee Programs
PNPs enable provincial governments to select candidates who are well-suited to their specific labor markets. These candidates are perceived as individuals who will easily integrate into the local economy while addressing urgent needs in high-demand sectors.
These programs allow provinces to either choose candidates from the federal Express Entry pool through a process known as "enhanced nomination" or directly accept applications from those applying to the provincial government, known as "base nomination." While receiving a provincial nomination does not grant immediate permanent resident status, it significantly strengthens an applicant's profile. Nominated candidates must still submit a separate application to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Recent Provincial Immigration Results (October 6-12)
British Columbia
On October 11, British Columbia conducted its most recent BC PNP draw, inviting over 180 candidates. The province held four targeted draws, including Skilled Workers and International Graduates, which encompass Express Entry applicants.
The largest draw focused on candidates employed in tech occupations, with 118 individuals invited. To qualify, they needed a minimum score of 90.
The remaining draws invited candidates in various categories, including early childhood educators and assistants (45), healthcare professionals (17), and other priority occupations.
Manitoba
Manitoba hosted four draws on October 5, extending invitations to 542 candidates for provincial nomination. Two draws targeted candidates in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, with one being occupation-specific. This specific draw aimed at professionals within the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 major groups, such as technical trades, general trades, and helpers and laborers in transportation.
Candidates in this group required a minimum score of 610. The second Skilled Worker draw was more general, inviting 222 candidates with a minimum score of 629.
The province also invited 41 candidates from the Skilled Worker Overseas category with a minimum score of 601 and 60 candidates from the International Education stream.
Alberta
On October 10, Alberta conducted a smaller draw, inviting 13 candidates from the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway with Alberta job offer stream of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. All candidates under this stream are also Express Entry candidates and required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 327.
In the allocation report for 2023, Alberta announced 1,462 nominations for candidates under this stream, with fewer than 10 applications currently in the queue and approximately 1,383 allocations remaining.
