Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced today an increase in certain permanent residence (PR) application fees, effective April 30, 2024, at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.
The fee adjustments reflect inflation and are calculated based on the Consumer Price Index for Canada, published by Statistics Canada.
Changes to Permanent Residence Application Fees (April 2024 – March 2026):

Important Notes from IRCC:
Dependent children and protected persons (including principal applicants and all accompanying family members) are exempt from the Right of Permanent Residence (RPR) Fee.
Sponsored children under 22 years old (without a spouse/partner) applying under family reunification are also exempt from the RPR Fee.
Principal applicants under the humanitarian and compassionate consideration and public policy categories are only exempt from the RPR fee under specific circumstances.
Applicants for permanent residence under the "permit holder" class cannot include accompanying family members in their application. Individuals seeking PR through this class must submit their own individual applications.
