February 13 - Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has once again extended invitations to apply (ITAs) in the latest Express Entry draw, marking another step forward in the country's immigration process.
In this recent draw, which was a general draw, IRCC issued a total of 1,490 invitations to eligible candidates. These candidates had to meet the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement of 535 in order to receive an invitation.
This draw is part of a series of draws conducted by IRCC in 2024. So far, there have been five draws in the year. The first draw of the year occurred on January 10, where IRCC invited 1,510 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 546 in a general draw.
Subsequent to this, the next two draws were also general in nature. On January 23, IRCC invited 1,040 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 543, followed by another draw on January 31 where 730 candidates were invited with a minimum score of 541.
Notably, the largest draw of the year thus far was conducted on February 1. In this draw, IRCC invited a staggering 7,000 candidates. However, this draw differed from the previous ones as it was a category-based selection draw specifically targeting Express Entry candidates with proficiency in French.
Express Entry is a system used by IRCC to manage applications for permanent residence under certain federal economic immigration programs. Candidates enter a pool and are ranked based on their CRS score, which considers factors such as age, education, work experience, and language proficiency in English and French.
The invitation rounds are eagerly anticipated by candidates who are seeking to immigrate to Canada, as they represent opportunities for those who meet the eligibility criteria to apply for permanent residence.
