In a wave of recent activity, four Canadian provinces – Ontario, British Columbia (B.C.), Quebec, and Alberta – have issued invitations to skilled immigrants through their respective Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). These programs aim to attract skilled workers who can contribute to the local economy and address specific labor market needs.
Ontario
Ontario invited 209 candidates in the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream, specifically targeting general practitioners and family physicians with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores between 395 and 444.
British Columbia
B.C. conducted two draws, one general and one targeted. The general draw invited 35 candidates across five streams, while the targeted draw invited over 73 candidates in childcare, construction, healthcare, and veterinary care occupations.
Quebec
Quebec retroactively released the results of a June 27 draw, inviting 1,528 candidates with high French proficiency and job offers outside the Montreal metropolitan area to apply for permanent selection.
Alberta
Alberta also released the results of a July 2 draw, issuing 37 invitations to candidates in the healthcare sector with a minimum CRS score of 301.
These draws highlight the ongoing demand for skilled workers across Canada and the various pathways available for immigration through provincial nomination. Prospective immigrants are encouraged to explore the specific requirements and opportunities offered by each province's PNP.
Note: Quebec operates independently of the PNP due to a special agreement with the federal government.
