Following a bustling summer for Express Entry, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) eased the pace of draws in September, issuing fewer invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residence. The shift comes as the immigration department continues its focus on prioritizing candidates already in Canada and those with French language proficiency.
September Draw Summary:
IRCC held three Express Entry draws last month, issuing a total of 5,911 ITAs. This represents a significant decrease compared to the 10,384 ITAs issued in August and 25,125 in July.

As of September 19th, the Express Entry pool held over 150,000 candidates. The majority of candidates (over 97%) have Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores below 600.

CRS 301-400: This score range represents the largest segment of the pool, comprising nearly 37% of all candidates.
CRS 401-500: Approximately 34% of candidates fall within this range.
CRS 501-600: This range includes just over 5% of candidates.

To be in the top 25% of candidates, a score of approximately 470 is needed.
