Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has continued its trend of active selection rounds within the Express Entry system, issuing a total of 11,650 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in the course of three draws this month.
The most recent draw, conducted on December 8th, saw the department extending 5,900 invitations to candidates specializing in STEM-related professions. This category-based selection emphasized the importance of individuals with professional experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields in contributing to Canada's workforce.
To be considered in this draw, candidates were required to attain a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 481, demonstrating their high eligibility based on qualifications, work experience, and other factors.
The previous draws earlier in the week were equally impactful. On December 7th, 1,000 candidates with a CRS score of 470 were invited in a draw targeting French-speaking individuals, emphasizing Canada's commitment to linguistic diversity. Preceding this, on December 6th, 4,750 candidates with a CRS score of 561 received invitations in an all-program draw, reflecting the broad spectrum of skills and expertise sought by Canadian immigration authorities.
This week's succession of draws marks a substantial return to Express Entry selections after a hiatus of more than a month. The last draw, occurring on October 26, invited 3,600 candidates with a CRS score of 431, focusing primarily on healthcare occupations.
However, amidst these recent successes, IRCC faced technical challenges affecting the upload of final applications to the Express Entry profile builder. A tweet from IRCC on November 14 highlighted this issue, impacting candidates who had received ITAs in previous draws. While a subsequent tweet on November 16 confirmed the resolution, no specific reason was provided for the extended pause in Express Entry draws.
The consistent and strategic approach of IRCC in issuing invitations underscores Canada's continued commitment to attracting skilled professionals, promoting linguistic diversity, and addressing the nation's labor market needs. These draws signify Canada's proactive stance in welcoming skilled immigrants, further enhancing the country's workforce and contributing to its economic prosperity.
