Individuals who submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020 but did not receive an invitation in the previous two years are encouraged to check the email address they provided in 2020 when they submitted their interest to sponsor form.
Streamlined Digital Application Process
Sponsors invited to apply as part of the 2023 intake will continue to benefit from the convenience of using the Permanent Residence Portal or the Representative Permanent Residence Portal for electronic submission of their applications. This commitment to modernizing Canada's immigration system underscores IRCC's resolve to expedite and simplify the application process, making it more accessible to all involved parties.
Super Visa as an Alternative
For those whose invitations to apply are not extended this year, there's another option to consider. Parents and grandparents who wish to reunite with their loved ones in Canada may opt for a super visa. This multiple-entry visa boasts a validity of up to 10 years and allows for extended stays in Canada. Super visa holders can now stay for up to 5 years at a time, with the possibility of extending their visit by up to 2 years at a time without leaving the country. These enhancements make it more convenient for Canadian citizens and permanent residents to enjoy longer periods of reunion with their parents and grandparents in Canada.
