IRCC Conducts Third Express Entry Draw of December, Issuing 1,085 Invitations

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 1,085 invitations to apply (ITAs) in its third Express Entry draw of December. This draw was a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-only round, with candidates requiring a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 727 to be considered.

This marks the first draw of the week and follows two earlier draws in December. On December 2, IRCC held another PNP-specific draw, while on December 3, a category-based draw targeted candidates with French language proficiency.

November witnessed six Express Entry draws, resulting in the issuance of 5,507 ITAs for permanent residence. December appears to be following a similar pattern, alternating between:

• PNP-specific draws

• Category-based draws (e.g., French proficiency)

• Other regional programs (with potential inclusion of the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP))

This new focus is significant, as the category has been allocated 82,980 permanent residence admissions for 2025, representing over 40% of Canada’s planned admissions next year.
