Ottawa, September 14, 2024: In a move to further boost immigration, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 1,000 invitations to apply (ITAs) in its latest Express Entry draw, specifically targeting candidates with French language proficiency.
This category-based draw required candidates to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 446 to receive an invitation. This marks the second draw of the month, continuing the trend of frequent Express Entry activity witnessed over the summer.
Record-Breaking Summer
July and August saw a flurry of activity in the Express Entry system, with IRCC conducting a total of 14 draws. Notably, July set a new record for the highest number of draws in a single month since Express Entry's launch in 2015, with nine draws taking place.
Focus on Domestic Candidates
The most recent draw prior to today's focused exclusively on Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, issuing invitations to 911 individuals on September 9th.
IRCC's recent pattern of conducting multiple draws every other week, typically including at least one draw for PNP candidates, reflects the government's commitment to prioritize the transition of temporary residents already in Canada to permanent residency. This approach aims to reduce the influx of new temporary residents while providing a pathway to permanent status for those already contributing to the Canadian economy and society.
