In a bustling week for Canada's immigration landscape, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its second Express Entry draw. On October 25, the department issued 300 invitations to apply (ITAs) in a category-based selection draw focused on French language proficiency. To qualify for consideration, candidates needed to achieve a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 486.
This draw followed closely on the heels of the previous day's draw on October 24. In that draw, IRCC invited 1,548 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 776. This event marked the first Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-only draw since May 10, capturing candidates nominated by provinces. The reason for the higher minimum CRS score in PNP draws lies in the fact that candidates in the Express Entry pool who receive a provincial nomination automatically gain an additional 600 CRS points.
