IRCC INVITES 3300 FSW CANDIDATES ON FEBRUARY 2, 2023

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently held a program-specific draw for candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker Program. A total of 3,300 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were sent out to candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System score of at least 489.

The 489 score represents a drop from the previous EEP draw score of 490, which was the score from the draw on January 18. This number reflects the present practice of the IRCC, which is to hold draws with lower CRS scores in order to manage the pool of Express Entry applicants.

The Federal Skilled Worker Program is one of three programs that use the Express Entry system to manage applications. The other two programs are the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates in the Express Entry pool are ranked based on the Comprehensive Ranking System, which assigns points for factors such as age, education, work experience, and language proficiency.

The current invitation round is an opportunity for many skilled workers to finally start the process of immigrating to Canada. For those who have been waiting for an invitation to apply, this is good news.

If you have been waiting for an invitation to apply for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, now is the time to start preparing your application.
