Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) wrapped up a busy week for Express Entry by inviting 3,750 healthcare workers to apply for permanent residence. This marks the third draw of the week and the second focused on a specific category - healthcare occupations.

Candidates in this draw required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 445. This is the highest number of ITAs issued in a category-specific draw so far this year, reflecting the ongoing need for healthcare workers in Canada.
The draw follows invitations issued on July 4th to 1,800 skilled trades workers and on July 2nd to 920 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. This brings the total number of ITAs issued this week to 6,470, the highest weekly total since April.
This trend of focusing on specific programs aligns with IRCC's goal of managing temporary resident numbers in Canada. Many temporary residents working in healthcare and other targeted fields can leverage Express Entry programs like the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) to transition to permanent residency.
