Starting March 5, 2025, eligible newcomers can now submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) through two Express Entry-aligned pathways:
Employment in New Brunswick Pathway
New Brunswick Interests Pathway
These pathways aim to attract skilled workers to the province but will exclude specific occupations from eligibility.
Key Updates to Eligibility Criteria
The NBPNP has introduced notable changes to the eligibility conditions for these pathways:
Lowering the minimum age requirement from 22 to 19 years old.
Increasing residency requirements and adding a 12-month consecutive work experience requirement for the Employment in New Brunswick pathway.
These adjustments follow significant changes to New Brunswick’s immigration system after the province’s provincial nomination allocation was reduced for 2025.
Processing System and Immigration Quotas
Unlike a first-come-first-serve basis, EOIs submitted under these pathways will be evaluated based on specific eligibility criteria.
This year, New Brunswick has an overall nomination allocation of 2,750, distributed as follows:
NBPNP: 1,500 nominations
Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP): 1,250 nominations
Eligibility Criteria for Each Stream
Each pathway has distinct requirements for issuing invitations to apply for a provincial nomination:

Employment in New Brunswick | - Must have been living and working full-time for a New Brunswick employer for the past 12 consecutive months. |
New Brunswick Interests | - Must have received a Letter of Interest from ImmigrationNB in their Express Entry profile.- Must have at least one year of continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience in the past 10 years. |
Common Eligibility Criteria for Both Pathways
In addition to specific requirements, all applicants must:
Have a valid Express Entry profile.
Demonstrate English or French proficiency at CLB/NCLC level 7 in all four abilities.
Meet the federal minimum proof of funds requirement (if not exempt).
Possess a Canadian high school diploma or equivalent.
Be between 19 and 55 years old.
Score at least 67 points on New Brunswick’s Express Entry selection grid.
Have a job offer in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.
Excluded Occupations
Candidates in the following occupations will not be considered for provincial nomination:
