The Northern Territory (NT) Government is now accepting applications for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) subclass 491 visa program, offering a pathway to permanent residency for eligible skilled workers. Applications have been open since October 23rd, 2023.
Key Eligibility Updates:
NT Graduates with Temporary Graduate subclass 485 visas expiring after July 1st, 2024 are no longer eligible for nomination in this program year.
NT Residents who haven't worked in their nominated occupation for 6 months may still be eligible if they have worked for 6 months in a critical sector (healthcare, education, childcare, hospitality).
The Priority Occupation Stream for offshore applications is limited to 54 occupations on the new NT Offshore Migration Occupation List.
Important Notes:
Onshore applicants are advised to submit applications well before their visa expiry dates and seek professional advice if necessary.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring they meet all visa criteria, including valid skills assessments and English language test results.
