Five Canadian provinces – British Columbia (BC), Quebec, Alberta, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island (PEI) – issued invitations to provincial immigration candidates last week.
Every Canadian province and territory, except Nunavut and Quebec, selects economic immigration candidates through regional immigration programs called Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). These programs help each participating province and territory welcome skilled immigrants who can best address local labor market needs and demographic challenges.
Provincial Immigration Results from April 27 to May 3
British Columbia
British Columbia conducted two provincial immigration draws on April 30, 2024.
General Draw: BC issued 47 invitations. Candidates from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Express Entry BC streams required a minimum score of 131 (Entry Level and Semi-Skilled candidates needed a score of 107).
Targeted Occupational Draws: BC invited candidates in childcare (9 invitations), construction (9), healthcare (9), and veterinary care (less than 5). Minimum scores varied by occupation.
Quebec
Quebec publishes provincial immigration draw results retroactively. Here's the breakdown of two draws:
April 11 Draw: 1,036 invitations issued. Candidates required level 7+ French proficiency, a valid job offer outside Montreal, and an eligible NOC code. Minimum score varied by occupation list.
April 25 Draw: 1,415 invitations issued. Candidates required level 7+ French proficiency, a valid job offer outside Montreal, and a minimum score of 598.
Alberta
Alberta released results for an April 17, 2024 draw:
49 NOIs (Notification of Interest) letters were issued through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) under the "dedicated healthcare pathway with Alberta job offer". Minimum CRS score was 302.
Manitoba
Manitoba held multiple draws:
April 30 Draw (Ukraine-focused): 451 Letters of Advice to Apply issued.
May 2 Draw: 941 invitations across Skilled Worker in Manitoba, International Education, and Skilled Worker Overseas streams. Minimum scores varied, 181 invitations linked to Express Entry profiles.
Prince Edward Island
May 2 Draw: 6 invitations went to candidates in healthcare and construction occupations.
