The Australian state of Victoria has officially opened its Skilled Visa Nomination program for the 2024-25 period, offering skilled professionals both within Victoria and overseas a pathway to permanent residency.
The program provides two visa options:
Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190): A permanent visa allowing recipients to live and work anywhere in Victoria.
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491): A five-year provisional visa, offering a pathway to permanent residency after living and working in regional Victoria for at least three years.
Interested individuals must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Australian Government's SkillSelect platform and then submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) to be considered for Victorian skilled visa nomination.
The Australian Government has granted Victoria 5,000 skilled visa nomination places for the 2024-25 program, distributed as follows:
Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190): 3,000 places
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491): 2,000 places
