Western Australia (WA) is inviting skilled workers from around the world to apply for state nomination through its revamped Skilled Migration Program for 2024-25. The program offers pathways to both the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) and the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491), providing additional points towards applicants' permanent residency aspirations.
Key Features of the 2024-25 Program
No Application Fee: WA has waived the application fee for this program year.
Equal Ranking: Interstate and overseas applicants will be assessed equally.
Prioritized Invitations: Candidates with occupations in critical demand sectors will receive priority.
Reduced Employment Requirements: Relaxed requirements for candidates in the building and construction industry.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for WA state nomination, applicants must meet both the Department of Home Affairs criteria for their chosen visa subclass and the specific WA criteria. Two main streams are available:
General Stream: Caters to a broad range of occupations listed on the WA Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL).
Graduate Stream: Designed for international students completing eligible qualifications in WA, with occupations listed on the Graduate Occupation List (GOL).
How to Apply
Lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI): Submit an EOI through the Department of Home Affairs' SkillSelect platform.
Prepare Documents: Gather evidence to support your application, including proof of residency, work experience, and qualifications.
Receive an Invitation: WA Migration Services will review EOIs and invite eligible applicants to apply for state nomination.
Lodge Your Application: Submit your application within 28 days of receiving an invitation.
Assessment and Outcome: Your application will be assessed against the WA criteria, and you will be notified of the outcome via email.
Nomination in SkillSelect: If successful, WA will nominate you in SkillSelect, leading to an invitation from the Department of Home Affairs to apply for your visa.
Invitation Rounds
Invitations are expected to be issued monthly, with the number varying based on processing capacity. The ranking system for EOIs considers factors like residency status, occupation, and points score.
